International Wedding Trend Study Group Says Travel For Wedding Is Up.
Thinking about going somewhere out-of-town to get married? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to get a passport and fly thousands of miles to have a destination wedding.
While most brides still get married close to home, a full 35% of brides travel more than 25 miles for their wedding. According to “The Wedding Report,” the go-to source for wedding trends, travel to a wedding ceremony location that’s between 50 and 200 miles from home has gone up steadily for the past three years.
That can make finding the right vendors a challenge. Your local florist or caterer may not want or be able to travel 150 or 200 miles on your wedding day. Contact them as soon as you know where you’re getting married, and see if they will travel as far as you will, for your perfect wedding location. If not, they could be your best source for a referral. Vendors often meet at state and local trade shows and know who are the best of the best in what they do.
